Murad Christmas

I reviewed the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer back in September and now use that every day under my foundation so when they offered to send me one of their Christmas gift packs I jumped at the chance. I chose the pack that's targeted towards blemished skin. There are four Christmas sets to choose from: Complete Renewal Christmas Kit - Four anti-ageing products to achieve a younger-looking complexion – worth £107.45 for £52. Shake-Up Your Makeup Christmas Kit  -The ultimate combination of make-up and skincare. Worth £56 for £36.
Hydration Sensation Christmas Kit -The ultimate hydration boost with three deluxe products – worth £123.30 for ££73.50 and the one I chose, Perfect Balance Christmas Kit - Perfect and mattify oily skin with four proven products – worth £89.70 for £42.50. These are great kits to ask for for Christmas if you want a starter kit to Murad. Murad make some amazing skin products for all age ranges and skin needs so these are even perfect for mums and aunts.

In the Perfect Balance kit you get four Step 2 and Step 3 products:
1.Zone Pore Refining Gel, 60ml : Remove pore-clogging impurities by gently exfoliating to remove dull, dry skin cells.  Full Size!
2.Blemish Treatment Concealer, Medium, 2.5g - Give skin a flawless finish with long-lasting coverage that targets existing blemishes and prevents new one from forming. Full Size!
3. Oil-Control Mattifier, 10ml - Provide long-lasting oil-control and prevent sun damage by immediately mattifying and controlling oil for up to 8 hours.
4. Hydro-Dynamic® Ultimate Moisture for eyes, 3.5ml  - Super-charge and awaken the delicate eye area by maintaining optimal moisture levels for 8 hours.

I've used each of these products so I can tell yo a little about my first impression. The pore refining gel is a really nice size for travelling as are all these products but I really like the pump as it has a twist to lock action meaning it wont accidentally get pressed in your bag. I use it after washing my face at night but I make sure to only use a pea size amount as I'm trying to not over oil my face. It has a runny consistency and smells like strawberry jelly cubes which is always fun. I can't say I've noticed any pore refining as of yet but it does leave my skin feeling great.
Now the concealer has got to be my least favourite item in this kit, as always with concealers that are for all people the shade is never right and I'm really not a fan of stick concealer anymore as i find the thickness of them hard to blend into my skin. Having said that it is a nice coverage but not a product that will suit every ones needs!
Oil controlling mattifier, I don't have oily skin, if anything my skin is rather dry however I do like my foundation to be matte so this is great to use with my moisturiser especially since is is SPF15 however i feel the size is a little small for the price of the kit. I think at least 20ml would be better.
And finally the ultimate moisture for eyes. This is the smallest sample at 3.5ml which i feel is a little ridiculous as it doesn't even fill the tiny jar it's in. But it does work. I use a tiny touch of it on my eyelids and under my eyes at night and in the morning there awake and, well moisturised. It will be a shame to run out.
Overall this is a cute little kit that comes wrapped in tissue paper and a neat box that will keep them guessing once wrapped up. The other kits look exciting too so check them out here
What do you think is the smallest sample size you think you would be happy with?
