Dainty Doll

My first stop in TKMaxx is always the high end makeup stand because I always manage to find amazing deals, and today was no exception. I saw two bags each with three Dainty Doll products in. For those of you who don't know, Dainty Doll is a make up brand own and 'designed' by Nicola Roberts, one of the Girls Aloud bunch, its targeted at the very pale skinned girls like myself. I've always wanted to try Dainty Doll,  but I've just never purchased anything before. My mums what I call a closet ginger, having ginger relatives and the stand out pale skin and freckles but dark hair, and I got the pale pale skin. I took each product out to look at the colours because it's hard to know what your buying without looking right?! There was a blush, a lipstick and an eye product in each bag. One blush was cream which was really pretty but I decided to choose the powder one as I knew I'd find it easier to work with. I then picked the red lipstick (the other was a nude which just wouldn't suit me) and the white/cream/light yellow eyeshadow base over an orange sparkly eyeshadow (not me) I'll show you some pictures and then tell you how much I saved!

The adorable packaging!
Dainty Doll Powder Blush in 002 My Girl

Eyeshadow base in Frankie Girl

Lipstick in Saucy Sailor
Blush: The powder blush in My Girl is a really nice formula, not at all chalky and has a really nie pigmentation. It's a pale pink with slight shimmer (I would perfer it to be matte) I can really see it flattering the paler skin tones. It retails for £13.50 and there are seven shades to choose from. I love that it comes with a massive mirror too so if you're one of those girls that carries makeup around with them, it's perfect! It also mentions that the blush has vitamin A, E and C in to help reduce wrinkles and age spots (acne scarring too!)
Eyeshadow Base: It wasnt until I got home that I realised it was a base, not an atual eyeshadow that actually made me like it more because it's a really nice creamy consistancy in a white colour that will really make your eyeshadows stand out, I'm rapidly running out of my elf base so this may of saved the day. It retails for £10.50.
Lipstick: The lipstick is a beautiful what I would call 'sailor red' which is maybe why it's called Saucy Sailor.. anyway I'm all about the red lipsticks so this is perfect for me, the finish is one of my favourites, the satin/matte look. However it smells really LIPSTICKY (do you know what I mean? that kind of smell that those really cheap lipsticks you give to little girls smell of?!) anyway, I actually quite like that smell.. so that's fine by me haha! The lipsticks retail for £12.50 and there are eight shades available.
So now, the price reveal, if I were to buy each of these products on boots the total would be £36.50! And how much did I pay in TKMaxx?! £7.99! That's right under £10 for £36 worth of product. Meaning I saved £28.51! *smug happy face* Rush out to your tkmaxx and check your cosmetics section to see if you can snap some up!!
Are you pale? Do you find it hard to find the right colours for your skintone? Have you tried Dainty Doll?

  1. I have ridiculously pale skin, so I'll definitely be looking out for these next time I go to TKMaxx which may be a while as there isn't one near me. Great bargains though - let me know what you think of them once you've used them a bit :)
